Memorain - Seven Sacrifices album cover

MEMORAIN are a Thrash Metal band from Athens, Greece, formed in 1999 by guitarist Ilias Papadakis.

The album begins with the atmospheric instrumental "A Stitch In Time" that builds into a chugging rhythm with some excellent guitar work. "Worlds Apart" follows on in the same vein with a great guitar riff and deep raspy vocals as it thunders along. "Course Correction" is thunderous, although the vocals do sound a bit strained at times, but the guitar solos are just immense. "Trust And Blood" is a guitar driven rampage of heaviness, "False Positive" is a mid tempo thrash assault with some of the vocals growl-like and "The Hour Of Death" is a blistering blur of pace and power as it rattles along.

Title song "Seven Sacrifices" is another mid tempo, very heavy yet catchy song with wide ranging vocals and an awesome guitar solo. "Blind Spot" slows the pace slightly into a foot stomping chug, yet it still manages to fly with some blistering guitar work. "Snow Falls", with its acoustic intro, clean vocals and lack of pace has a ballad feel to it and is out of place on a thrash metal album. However, that said, it is well played, well sung and the guitar solo is very good.

Thrash Metal returns with the thunderous "Bad Wolf", full of guitars and powerful drums as it races at full pace to a frenetic finish. "We All Fall Down" closes the album in furious fashion as it rampages through riff after riff pummelling the senses right to the very end.

Overall, thunderous Thrash Metal with screaming guitar solos and great vocals that will please fans of mid tempo, very heavy, Thrash Metal.
