Damn can you feel the "Aftershock"! Do you believe it, being treated to 14 brand new tracks to grind ya down? What no umlaut over the "o" like found on the last two aces up their sleeve? Either way,  playing the joker and gambling' like a fool with 21 studio albums in just under four decades is way cool!  Given Lemmy Kilmister's health concerns as of late, I was wondering whether the Rock 'N Roll train might being pulling into its last stop? Hopefully this will not be their swansong, because their latest bomber is no coup de' etat, but it is not a crying shame either.

The album begins with their first single "Heartbreaker" which is not as I.Y.F. As "Rock Out" or "Get Back In Line", but then again the lyrics are far from cliché.  Thankfully the meaning inferred is not as overkill as some other hits. "Lost Woman Blues" is way to bluesy for my tastes, but "End Of Times" picks the pace up again, such that this "Queen Of The Damned" and "Death Machine" showcase Phil Campbell's phenomenal fast, loose, and live feel, balanced by the hammered harangue of drumming madness, all to Mikkey Dee's delight.

"Do You Believe" was the first new song I heard on my stereo, after the seeing the video for "Heartbreaker", and I felt that this cut was more MOTORHEAD banging worthy, recalling the likes of "1916" or "Rock 'N Roll". This should be their next single. "Dust And Glass" is another bluesy ballad, but it has a no class HEADCAT feel to it. "Going To Mexico", really? I thought they already went to Brazil? I guess this track elucidates how crazy the South of the border fans are for the mean machine that is MOTORHEAD. March or die, with no sleep at all we all know how much the band love to tour as their plethora of live albums prove who are the real road crew.

Not all the songs really measure up or will stand the test of time. I am sure there is a sexual element to "Keep Your Powder Dry", and "Knife" does not really penetrate, and the subject matter is far removed from the song title; however, the closer "Paralyzed" is good for an iron fist held high.

As long as these bastards continue to sacrifice for their art, and keep creating chaos, I want to hear what they have to offer until I am skilled by the kiss of death. Since it is they who most likely invented thrash in the first place, I will always want to hear more aces, in spades, eagerly awaiting to be bitten by the venomous snake and lovely reptiles. So please keep giving me MOTORHEAD until I reach another orgasmatron.
