The return of the American group of Brutal Death Metal SUTURE was marked by a re-release of their album "Skeletal Vortex" in 2012 under the SFC Records. This event is important because the group was on hold for 4 years. But what interests us is the whole re-recording of "Carnivorous Urge to Kill" to make it out a second time with a new face.
The album was originally released in 2002, at that time the band was a little-known regionally around the state of Louisiana, its region of origin. Today they are known but not at an international level. As I mentioned above, the album was completely redone from the recording to the Art Work of the CD. The new version has a more advanced and modern production. How much the originality of the raw appearance that characterizes the original version was kept? It is this question that I asked since the first moments of listening.
The band's style is a Brutal Death Metal that includes all the typical elements of the genre, with ultra-fast riffs, brutal and ruthless, which accompanied by blast beats wildly misinterpreted. The groove is very heavy in a way to put the listener in a state of unease, except fans of this type of course. A style that may sounds like CANNIBAL CORPSE or SUFFOCATION. The length of the tracks is on average 3 minutes which is normal for the genre. The presence of the Bass is remarkable and it adds more heaviness, something that is emphasized in all the pieces rather than putting melodies, which imposed a resemblance. The spectacular technicality and diversity of the rhythms can maybe all balance.
You cannot get out alive after such a heavy album, musically it's not a bad opus but there's something missing to make it a success on all levels.
