Terrortory - New World Order album cover

"City Of Ghosts" is the latest EP of the band TERRORTORY released under the label Discouraged Records in digital platforms in a context of melodic Death but we can mention the term Thrash for certain passages. The Swedish band adopts a typical style of the Swedish Nordic lands, but without falling into the reproduction of sounds like some kind of old ARCH ENEMY or IN FLAMES, in fact they were immersed in their own world and they do it very well.

By attacking the first song "New World Order", I was amazed at first by the quality of the production, which was a success. Musically, the members have decided to take the difficult path but they nailed it, with melodic but very specific sentences, they were aware of what they are doing, especially since they already have an album out in 2011 called "The Seed Left Behind". I can link with the song "City Of Ghosts" second tracks, which puts forward more the Thrashy side of the band, the Swedish quintet has always sought to distinguish each piece in a way, breaks and returns and remarkable sentences from the bass side. And it is the turn of my favorite of all the EP, "Dead Eyes in a Dead World" a masterpiece, energy and feelings were at the time. It seems that Johan Norström takes orders, and expressed a lot of anger is a way to attract the listener, his voice a mixture between the old school and the personal touch that adds a dignified presence of the great vocalists of its kind. I liked it continues, but it is an EP, the fourth track "Beheading The Serpent", is the darkest in my opinion, but with guitars, There are some balance that highlights some smooth transition. The image of AT THE GATES in the 90s appeared in my head, although the old vibes are present.

I listened to this EP several times, and I consider that it is for me the most successful this year. Sure the album is in preparation, but in the meantime I invite you to listen to their work, you will not regret this.
