And Time Stood Still

GALLOWS POLE released their seventh full length album "And Time Stood Still" via Pure Rock Records. As the title of the album suggests, on it you can hear the sound that`s been frozen in time. Complete album sounds like it`s been ripped straight from the 80s. Quite a blast from the past.
The songs flow nicely one into the other, with small difference in sound and tempo with Alois Martin Binder`s hypnotic vocals. After listening to the album for a while, you get a feeling that you`re listening to one almost 43 minutes long song. The only slightly up beat song is "Rock This Town", while the other songs are mid tempo with distinct heaviness. The monotony of the sound is broken by two ballads, "Summer Rain", a song that`s trying to get out from the overall heaviness of the album thankfully to back up female singer Elsko`s vocals, which add some tenderness to the song, and piano driven "Take Me to the Heaven". Occasional Harald Pikasky`s solos brakes the monotony here and there, but without success.
"And Time Stood Still" could be easily sorted as the Hard Rock, with occasionally slip into Heavy Metal, and distant resemblance to Indie Rock (for instance "I Don`t Wanna Go" sounds like bit heavier sound of the SNOW PATROL).
If you`re GALLOWS POLE diehard fan, and their releases are a "must have", than this is an album for you.
