To The Pain - To The Pain album cover

The story of FOR THE PAIN starts back in the 80s when Steve Shaver and John Intagliata were just of couple of teenagers with a dream. They were in a band called DISTORTED IMAGE, that fell apart in the middle of demo recording. But the dream kept on living, and came true years later. TO THE PAIN brings socially and politically colored album of the same name. Seven songs on their debut album are more than enough to show what these guys can do. You can find great riffs and amazing solos (like the one in "Burn With Me"), thick bass and pounding drums, with great vocals. Their sound is mix of Power and Thrash Metal, with just right amount of the 80s sound.

It`s quite a solid album, although politically induced, it does not impose an opinion yet rather makes you think. Everything is nicely packed, arranged and produced, but nothing really stands out on this album. It`s more giving homage to the bands that were inspiration to the members of TO THE PAIN (bands like ANTRAX, MEGADETH, OVERKILL, TESTAMENT, BLACK SABBATH, TROUBLE...) than bringing something new to the scene.
