Fading Bliss - From Illusion To Despair album cover

Influenced by bands such as PARADISE LOST, MY DYING BRIDE and THEATRE OF TRAGEDY, FADING BLISS started in 2009 as a project aiming to combine their gothic and doom metal influences while paying tribute to these 90s bands. Back in 2011 they released their first EP and now in 2013 they release their debut album titled "From Illusion to Despair".

Just from the title and the album cover we can learn a lot about what this album is all about: a journey into our inner selves through the landscape of despair and suffering conveyed by the songs. Responsible for this is the Beauty-and-the-Beast type of vocals performed by the duo of Melanie and Dahl, which, although is pretty much cliché nowadays, works pretty well on this material.

"From Illusion to Despair" is an album filled with deep, meaningful songs and is highly recommended for those people that enjoy slow-paced music with gothic influences.
