In the 'music world' there are those bands that are good, but not lasting. There are the bands who while they may be good and lasting, you wonder if they really feel the way their songs make you feel. Then there is a remarkable Progressive Metal band from the U.K. TESSERACT who admittedly wear their hearts on their sleeves.

"Altered State", the newest album by this awe-inspiring bunch, is definitely filled with energy that moves one in so many ways. TESSERACT as many people know, don't follow the lead of the bands around them. "Proxy" the first track on the album, has a soft, yet strong beginning that leads to an alluring, powerful anthem for the heart. One thing I love about them is they aim above the stars, and they accomplish their dreams on their own accord. And it is this creative freedom they have sought for themselves that has made this band what they are today. Even though they have had line-up changes, nothing has been lost in this transition. The new vocalist, Ashe O'Hara has an amazing voice that carries the spirit of the band in the best of ways.

TESSERACT is one of few bands that I would recommend people of all genres to give a listen to. The mixture of Metal, emotion and fight for freedom within the veins of this magnificent creature they have created is perfect to make fans of all who listen! They will certainly be another new addition to my ever growing collection!
