According to Bandcamp, "AFTERGLOW was formed as a two-piece band in the summer of 1995 in Mezőkövesd, Hungary, and was one of the few bands that stood out for the then emerging so-called melodic death metal style. Later they expanded and turned to a new musical direction. They released two demos and disbanded in 1998." As far as I can tell, this is new music from the duo, and the album has five songs. "Cherish Me" is first. The guitar playing is exquisite, and so is the bass. Add the vocals to these accolades as well. The duo moves with jazzy and bluesy notes that are very energetic and catchy. If you can forget about labels, this is truly some outstanding music, and the hooks are massive. "Torrid Scars" is another song that moves like a breeze through your clothes on a warm day, and I can't say enough about their impeccable musicianship. This music is so well put together and performed. Take the lead breaks for example…they hop on the melody line and rides it into the sunset.

"Blading" hears the pace slow just a bit, and the bluesy landscape is augmented with horns. Their brand of fusion is alive and notes leave the page and appear in front of your face as if they were magical. Vicktor reaches the upper ranges of his voice, and it literally shatters glass. "Stopping By Woods" is another undeniable winner, and the groove is both smooth and warm. This music will enter your head and take up residence for life, and they take talent to the next level. "Cherish Me" is the final song, and it's "fusioned again." Led by funky and dexterous bass notes, it charges forward on a beam of light that shoots all the way into the heavens. They are like the energizer bunny on the album…moving with a full charge that never dies.

Where in the fuck has this band been all of my life? They play like a group of guys that have spent their lives together, and can finish each other's sentences. The music is so tight and they never miss even a hint of a note across five songs. Their talent…is off the charts. It's beyond lively, energetic, and catchy, and it about as perfect of an album as I have heard this year.
