Epigrama
Erdve

From Bandcamp, "Epigrama" is a meticulously constructed meditation on entropy, regret and psychological erosion. Across eight tightly interwoven compositions, the band confront grief, guilt and stagnation as structural forces rather than passing emotions. Every decision, or absence of decision, is treated as moral debt. The volatility of earlier works is internalized into controlled tension, deliberate pacing and dense atmospheric weight. The album was entirely produced, recorded, mixed and mastered by the band, reinforcing its philosophical insistence on accountability and cohesion. Every sonic element, harmonic progression and lyrical detail is deliberately positioned, constructing a cohesive framework that unifies composition, narrative and production into a singular entity. From the suffocating grief of "Nyra" to the irreversible acceptance of "Svertas," the record unfolds as a journey from doubt to clarity through collapse. A moment isn't captured. A process is endured."
The album has eight songs, and "Epigrama" is first. It comes out of the gate with a dark and aggressive sound, and the bottom end goes deep. So deep in fact, it borrows under the ground until you can't see it. The vocals and music are both dissonant, and you can hear the anger in the screams/shouts. "Nyra" continues the sound with another devastatingly heavy song. The low riff seems to vibrate back and forth under the vocals, and the vocals rage with an unimaginable intensity. In fact, they are on fire. "Skepsis" hears the assault on your naked body continue with more punishing riffs and thick, overgrown shrubs which grow to the size of trees. The breakdown is beyond heavy…it's as powerful as the crushing atmosphere of the deep ocean. "Ydos" lets some melody into the otherwise bleak and barren sound. Like a sheep in wolves clothing however, it doesn't even begin to keep pacing with the crushing sounds.
"Trukme" is really the first song where you get to catch a breath…a short one anyway. Like a pitcher of water, it pours until you are full, and then adds more, to the point where you feel like you are drowning. The sound is absolutely desperate. "Svertas" pulverizes bone to ash in a ritualistic way. The pacing varies, so you better be on your toes. Just when you think you have something to follow, it shifts again. "Rauksles" is yet another heavy hitter. It doesn't just hit you, it smashes right through you with tones of anger and even end-of-the-world type prophecies. There are some slightly more ambient passages along the way, but they are overshadowed by the incredibly thick sound. "Skleistis" is the final song. It's supremely weighted, and dreadfully dissonant. If there was even a shred of hope anywhere on the album it's gone forever.
Tightly woven songs? That's an understatement. Part Metalcore, part Hardcore, and part Sludge, they take the best of what each one of the genres has to offer the listener and stirs it into their stew of blood, bones, and tissue. The sound is both alive and dead…meaning that when it's alive, you can feel it coursing through your veins and it burns. When it's dead, you feel cold, numb, and hopeless. They hit both of the extremes here very well.
