HARROWED is an Old School Death Metal band from Stockholm in Sweden that is not afraid to add a lot of Punk influences into their Heavy renderings. Having only produced a demo in 2021 ("MMXXI") and a split in 2022 ("Banner Of Hatred/Poison Death") it is time for 2026 to be known as the time that these Death Metallers bring us their debut album. Thus it was ordained that on 27 February 2026 the release of "The Eternal Hunger" has materialised. And in the 36 minutes that you get your music, there is no escaping the fact that these Swedes have got their act together in exactly the right way. What I do think is mentionable is that at the heart of the band we are talking about HARROWED officially being a duo. Just two members doing it all, and it's quite obvious that they have each other's number when it comes to the music.

"The Eternal Hunger" is a very coherent album, rather fast and furious in deliverance, but also filled with songs that have a solid foundation, a decent structure, and most of all, an attraction to them that makes you just want to keep listening to them. And it doesn't matter at what speed HARROWED is operating, they have that je-ne-sais-quoi quality that makes them interesting from start to finish. Having a very good sound throughout the whole duration of "The Eternal Hunger" doesn't hurt either. And I do like the Maidenesque kind of riffing that pops up from time to time, only a lot faster than their peers would ever even try to accomplish.

"The Eternal Hunger" is an album that brings me joy when I listen to it, as the level of musicianship is way above average, the songs are all of a very good quality and, as mentioned before, the sound is outstanding. For a debut album I feel that HARROWED have given us a very good taster as to what they are capable of musically. the only thing I'm missing is some songs that jump out at me, that have that extra level of excitement, that exude brilliance. But I'll forgive them that aspect, as I feel that is the one area that they can improve into for the future. Because I have a feeling that these guys are a band that will blow you out of any venue if they van come close to what they have achieved on "The Eternal Hunger". If they can, then it is my belief that HARROWED can grow into one of those bands that are hard to ignore.
