Distinguished UK progressive metal project DIVIDED BY DESIGN are set to release their highly anticipated new album, "Stages to Osiris: Rebirth"—a complete reimagining of their acclaimed 2020 debut, "Stages to Osiris." Media outlets have praised the band's discography extensively." The album has five instrumental songs, and "Denial" is first. It has a slow start, but once that heavy riff kicks in, it's off and running, and the audible bass notes help to thicken up the song. It's a dark offering and also one that has some mystery behind it.

"Reactionary" is also quite dark, and there are keyboards mixed in with the leads. Osiris is the god of the underworld, afterlife, resurrection, and fertility in Greek Mythology, so the darkness shrouding the album makes sense. "The Negotiation" is a bass led song and also offers some piano. The main riff is slow, and again dark, and the band seems to be exploring all that the underworld has to offer. There are also some dissonant tones within the delicate melodies. "Collapsing Reality is close to eight minutes. It's a slow build to a flurry of lead guitar notes, and the others keep up nicely. Allow the band some room to stretch. Throughout the song, the band takes a few diversions along the path, but they always bring it back to the original melody line.

"The Fatalist" is the final offering, and it's an ambient sound consisting mostly of keyboards and programming. Guitars don't come in until after the half-way point. I love instrumental Metal, let me just get that out of the way. The album showed promise at times, and their musicianship was strong, but there were also some phasing issues here and there. The album as a whole also suffered from a lack of direction.
