"Arise From Blackness" is a compilation album for Brazilian Black / Death Metal band KRISIUNKRISIUN was formed in 1990 by the three brothers Alex Camargo, Max Kolesne and Moyses Kolesne and they hail from Rio Grande do Sul, which is the same state I am from.

This album consists of songs previously released in other albums, which is what you expect from a compilation, so in order to review it I decided to view it as for its target audience which is people new to the band and looking to find out more about them.

I should probably start by saying how unimpressed I was by this record, with the exception of the very short instrumental "Insurrected Past", the songs all sound the same, I couldn't tell when a song had ended and a new had begun as they all are very similar to each other, the first time I listened to this album I wondered why the first track took so long to finish only to realize that it was already on "Infected Core" and I hadn't even noticed. This wouldn't be so bad if the song was a good one but, alas, that is not the case.

Fans of this band and of Death Metal in general would probably be more interested on this album than I was and would probably give a higher rating than I have.
