Dead End Finland - Stain Of Disgrace album cover

"Stain of Disgrace" is the debut album" of the DEAD END FINLAND. From first sounds of this album you will know that you are listening to a Finnish group. The album was originally released in 2011 and as far as it has been known that the members have been working on a new album. The listener will find 10 tracks of melodic Death Metal, every song delivers power and a full load of energy.

On the opening track album "My Fate" there is a beautiful intro that will surely make you absorb the feeling as if you were in a distant place, maybe a frozen land. My first impression was that they sounded like CHILDREN OF BODOM and IN FLAMES. The music is very strong and melodic with fierce guitars and a powerful rhythm section as on the song called "Betrayed", which also asserted Mikko Virtane as a great singer. The climatic keyboards on "Nothing Left To Bleed" add flavor to the song. The intro of this song is mainly for Headbangers with energetic, melodic chorus in a clear vocal singing and low tuned guitars are true kick-ass.

On the title track of album, "Stain Of Disgrace",there are choral singing in the vein of CHILDREN OF BODOM. I also had the feeling that the intro made me think of a boxer entering the ring for the fight of his life with a swarm of adrenaline. There is a clear SEPULTURA influence that can be evident on "Sinner's Day" following a machine gun drumming and the mixture of growl and clean vocals. "Face The Enemy" is a very good song in the area of GODSMACK or PANTERA, a highly aggressive track that encourages a fist for fight. On "Sea Of Eternity" there once again the occasional growl / clean vocals fusion, a vibrant sound of keyboards, drums, bass and guitars cause this track to become a little more quiet and reflective than the other songs. Also on "Fields Of Silence" has an easily remembered melodic chorus, rich and sturdy guitar rhythms as a blast to the listener's ears. The drums and bass work pretty well and in the background such enchanting keyboards.

DEAD END FINLAND's performance reminded me stuff out of CHILDREN OF BODOM, WINTERSUN, AMON AMARTH, MUTINY WITHIN, INSOMNIUM and SOILWORK. Throughout the release there have been great examples of definitive guitars and commanding rhythm section both for your ears' needs and wishes. Everyone who shares appreciation for melodic Death Metal echoed by the chilling winds of frost should tune to this release.
