Sorceress

Beast Eagle

I would love to hear more of BEAST EAGLE. I sincerely would like for them to give “Sorceress” a successor that is over 40 minutes long, a full length studio album. And I would love to see and experience what these four people can produce when they play live.

Omaha, Nebraska, USA is the home of Heavy/Stoner Rock/Metal band BEAST EAGLE, a band that thus far has released a single demo ("Loud At Flat Black Studios") in 2021 and a singular EP ("Beast Eagle") in 2023. The two year window has remained intact, so now the world should be ready for their latest offering, which is another EP. They have named it "Sorceress". It becomes clear who the person in question is, because when you start listening to this EP, the first thing that hits you is how powerful, convincing and mesmerising the voice of Kate Prokop is. She has the kind of vocal chords that will have you taking notice from the first time that she opens her mouth until the last tone of her extremely demanding but simultaneously very warm sounding voice has.

What that does at first is make you forget to concentrate on the music, as you just can't get around her presence and/or her performance. In short, she is gaining points for the band. Then, after a few listens, you start to pay attention to the music and you have to conclude that what BEAST EAGLE is producing on "Sorceress" is not to be sniffed at either. No, they aren't treading on formerly untrodden paths, neither are they trying to invent anything new. Nope, they are simply trying to write music as good and as impressive as they can. And they are succeeding. In the 19:31 minutes that you are treated to BEAST EAGLE style Rock and Metal they are able to convince you of their qualities.

I say convince, not impress. I feel that they are coming close to that kind of rating, but to get there I would have to hear more of BEAST EAGLE. I sincerely would like for them to give "Sorceress" a successor that is over 40 minutes long, a full length studio album. And I would love to see and experience what these four people can produce when they play live. If they do that and at least equal (or hopefully better) what they have done on this EP, I will be the first to congratulate them. Until then I feel that if you are a traditional Heavy Metal lover, a Stoner Rock enthusiast and/or a Heavy Rock afficionado, you need to have a listen to what BEAST EAGLE is able to bring you on "Sorceress". You'll find that you are liking what you are hearing.
