Ok, I'll admit this. I am a country girl, with my family coming from Kentucky and the Carolinas. My roots run deep with bikers, moonshiners, Bible Belt religion, and small town thinking. So, I have some affection for red-dirt metal, and TEXAS HIPPIE COALITION surely fits the bill. The record, "Peacemaker", is 11 songs about booze, drugs, women, and outlaws. All the things that TEXAS HIPPIE COALITION is well acquainted with. However, this is where our similarities end.

I guess somewhere along my journey, I got tired of songs about wicked women, outlaws, and screwed up relationships. So, I got tired of the album quick. But, that's on me, not the quality of the album. If you're a fan of LYNYRD SKYNYRD, MOLLY HATCHET, or HELLYEAH, I bet this album will really resonate with you. I'll admit "Don't Come Looking" and "Outlaw" brought a smile to my face; I had some great times back then. The album is heavy, raw, and stands out as a message from the band- We don't give a damn about what you think. For a rating, I'd say 8 outta 10.
