German multi instrumentalist Marcus Pfeffer (Lazarus Dream,Mystery Moon and Winterland) the third studio album “Over The Horizon” from this all star Melodic Rock project. In keeping with tradition Tyketto frontman Danny Vaughn opens the album on the first track “The Sign Of Wolf” This album features again some great singers of the Melodic Rock genre which also includesup and coming talent Deibys Artigas (Preincarnation) from Venezuela. Even with the different vocal styles, the songs stylistically homogeneous and form a well rounded whole. The album was self produced by Marcus Pfeffer, with the mastering was carried out by Rolf Munkes (Empire Studios) ,with the artwork designed by Argentinian artist Nicolas Oliveros. The lyrics were written by the respective singers.

A powerful harmonic intro kicks in Track 1 “The Sign Of The Wolf” featuring Danny Vaughn (Tyketto) which has a majestic atmospheric feeling within the melody and vocals.”One By One” is next up which features Dirk Kennedy (Hitman) with the synth introduction followed by heavy guitar riffs for me does not really get going or have that spark.”Platform Of A Star” features Silent Tigers David Cagle is a more uptempo, upbeat punchy melodic track, which is then followed by the album title track “Over The Horizon” featuring Deibys Artigas of Preincarnation at just under seven minutes long,a track with big guitars,a big chorus with a modern Melodic sound with Artigas delivering a great vocal. Tony Harnell (TNT) delivers a great contemporary power ballad which has a deep bass line behind the melody with the track having a big powerful chorus,an album highlight for sure.

”Book Of Faces” has a heavier tone mixed with some synths that lead to a more melodic affair in the bridge & chorus, vocal duties fall to Conny Lind (Amaze Me).”Amaze Me” is a solid track which has rich gritty guitars,a sturdy drum beat with Lee Small (The Sweet & Lionheart) nailing the vocals which is the track of the album for me. David Cagles second outing “Dreams” is a feel good catchy melodic rocker, followed by Danny Vaughn's second vocal contribution to the track “Fire Falls” with its bright synth/key touches with another big melodic chorus a stellar track. The albums last track “ Scirocco Sands” sees Dirk Kennedy deliver a great vocal to this over 9 minutes long track full of great guitar riffs and rhythm and some nice keyboard work.

Over The Horizon” is overall a solid release with some great vocal performances with Marcus Pfeffer and guest musicians delivering some great melodies and rhythms to bring the tracks to life. The majority of the tracks are delivered superbly with a couple of tracks which were just filler tracks unfortunately and did not stand out like the others .In the whole scheme of things a great album overall. Released via Pride & Joy Music 22nd August
