After striking with a NWOBHM / Speed Metal with the previous album of "The Antique Witcheries", the bastards of pain and aggression from the US,  VINDICATOR, returned to slam the door in the faces of the ones up high that make all the decisions regarding our ordinary day lives. "United We Fall", via the band's new label of Slaney Records, joins the large amount of cries and protest about the critical state that the world society lays in and how much ignorance can stench any hopes of recuperating from the current abysmal middle sack. Like in every musical piece, emotions play part and affect the music. When it comes to VINDICATOR, everything went to straight up violence, rapid speed onslaught along with older elements that has been integral in the band's music. However, after being thrilled "The Antique Witcheries", which I perceived as creative and special, my feelings weren't the same towards "United We Fall" that pretty much entered a family that has been producing the same stuff.

It seems to me that VINDICATOR chose to be a lot more thrashier than before and favored loosen Punkish style beats and crudely grey type vocal patterns other than the combustion of harmonies of the previous album. I think that this is the main reason why "United We Fall" isn't its previous the rating is concerned. Though it referred to various topics that have been playing an important part of our lives, musically it was inferior and lesser interesting. At least the band kept their wild terror of solos on steroids that were the greatest thunder of this whole album. In contrast, VINDICATOR couldn't escape the fact that they repeated themselves with the same new generation old school speeding and same style of riffing this creating a musical piece that might be energetic and more or less flowing but without too much constructiveness as I would have liked because I believe that these guys can accomplish that.

"Bastards Of Noise And Aggression" is the band's calling card and it should be highlighted. It is a tremendous track bearing great energies and wild in your face playing. "Divided We Stand...United We Fall" is the emblem of everything that this album stands for. There is no rest for the fight against the enemies of society and what better than to Thrash it up. "Fire Escape" is basically a Bay Area Thrash inflammation, a great cross breed between the 80s kind and the new wave of Thrash. "Hail To The Thief" is the only evocative of the band's earlier music. It is an amazingly great Heavy / Speed Metal reincarnation that even the vocals within sounded good.

VINDICATOR fought the good fight for us the hard working folks of the world nation. Through their music they signaled that we have to keep a watchful eye for what is going around us or we all fall as the title suggested. But if we fall, we might as well be united. Musically I think that the band favored heaviness over their earlier mischief, but in a way it was still good and fitted their combatant state of mind. That is why I consider their efforts as worthy for you to take on. Don't hesitate.
