Signs & Wonders
Hearts On Fire

It's been seven years since Hearts On Fire released their debut album “Call Of Destiny”.Now they are back with a new album “Signs & Wonders”,with also a new singer Mark Boals who is a renowned vocalist who has worked with Yngwie Malmsteen,Ring Of Fire with also several solo projects. The strong line up is made complete with Jean Funes ( Guitars) , Eric Ragno (Keyboards),Joel Mejia (Drums) and with additional musician Dennis Ward (Bass) who also mixed and mastered the album with Jean Funes responsible for the production . The sound of the band now evolved ,adding more personality and depth to their sound, making for a edgier 2nd album.
Keyboard trickery from Eric Ragno gives a very atmospheric & dramatic feel to the opening track “Signs In The Sky” (the first single) accompanied by a strong rhythm & melody not a bad start to this album, followed by “Collective Mind” sees Hearts On Fire start to flow and get in the Melodic Rock lane with Mark Boals vocals leading the charge . The album gets into full gear with “Lights And Shadows” which has a more laid back approach in the verses & building in the bridge before launching into a huge chorus interlaced with this cool melodic guitar licks from Jean Funes before letting go with a cool solo. The flood gates then open and my ears are treated to some great slices of AOR and Melodic Rock “Stay In This Moment” is the huge power ballad of the album another big chorus with great harmonies, which complete with the guitar, rhythm, keys and vocals deliver a big track. The Edgier “Blood Moon” has that edgier side to Hearts On Fire edgier riffs, harder drums from Joel Mejia mixed with the Dennis Ward deep bass line, with more wondrous keyboard touches keep the song in the melodic zone.”World Torn In Two” is a track which has current relevance to the world , is another album highlight not just with the lyrics ,but the very powerful chorus and the melody of the track, again very prominent keys and guitars and rhythm,”Restless Heart” sees Mark Boals vocal skills command another album highlight for me, which also has musical finesse, which is also the case for penultimate track “Battlefield” .Closing this album “From Here To Eternity” which is a more laid back dynamic melodic track which is a nice touch to end proceedings.
“Signs & Wonders” is a very solid offering from Hearts On Fire. The first couple of tracks grew on me after a couple of plays but the other nine tracks were instant Melodic Rock ear worm tracks full of big melodies, huge anthemic choruses that were delivered with impact the keyboards were seriously superb throughout, with Mark Boals delivering a strong vocal throughout the album.”Signs & Wonders” is another superb melodic Rock album for 2025.Released 25th July from Pride & Joy Music.
