Sexmag is a Polish thrash/death metal band. They have been around since 2019, and when I look up their discography, I see that this is their first full-length. But they have a live album: Alive Bytom! back from 2022. However, Sexorcyzm will be released on May 23, 2025. I know that Poland has a great underground, so let's dive into the album:

The first track is an intro; "Intro (Total Metal)" and sounds like something that could be used in a horror movie from the 80s. The lyrics are about death, sex, murder, and Satan. Yes, I think this band has a lot of 80s thrash, death, and black metal. And the track "Inkubus" confirms it; think of early Kreator, Kat, Sarcófago, a hint of Venom and you get it. But important, this band is not a rip-off; they really have their own style. "Smród palonych dusz" is in some way more aggressive and a bit darker. The thrash factor is extremely high, and so is the 80s presence; I do sometimes think Possessed. The sound is raw; the production for this kind of music can't be better. Sexmag really handles the balance between the aggression in their music well; they have something melodic over them. The tracks "Odurzony śmiercią" and "Sex z diabłem" keep the same high quality; so far, not one bad track. "Córy Koryntu" is a real higlight track; it starts very instrumental but heads over to the more aggressive but yet melodic style, a strong track. And one of my personal favorites, "Psalm I - Intronizacja Szatana" a bit beautiful and very heavy track. It comes as a surprise in a way.

This album is perfect. The last track on the album, "Sexorcyzm" takes us back to the aggressive thrash death metal. The whole album is around 39 minutes, and it fits me great. Sexmag has a lot of rhythm changes; they cover up a lot of ground (genres), and when you wish that an album was a bit longer, then they really nailed it. To find this kind of music, the attitude, the sound, the heart, and the soul. You have to go back to the 80s thrash death metal. It is that good. A debut album on this level, they are aiming high. Great album.
