Dawn Of Fury
Chronic Hate

What do we get if we mix two parts of tested old school Death Metal riffs, one part grunts resembling CANNIBAL CORPSE and DEICIDE and one part evil song titles like "Authorized Suicide"? Lots of bands could be the answer but in particular for this review the name is CHRONIC HATE. Hailing from Bibione, Italy this five-piece newcomer Death Metal band comes with its first thirty-minute release "Dawn Of Fury".
The eight songs of the "Dawn Of Fury" include all the nice stuff one would expect from a Death Metal record; blast beats, grinding guitar riffs and spitting Death grunts. The songs have lots of variations in tempo and they are quite technical but I could hardly spot any bright moments in the record. The only songs that had some really cool riffing and were far from boring were the last two songs of the album "New Era Control" and "You Must Pay".
My overall impression on this record is that it lacks inspiration in most of the songs. I wouldn't mind that much with reused ideas as long as those ideas are creating an interesting and enjoyable total. The production of the record is really great, the musicians are highly skilled but the vocals sound too dull to me. Unfortunately, other than the two last songs of "Dawn Of Fury" the rest of the record is mediocre.
