Today I will be reviewing a truly Metal masterpiece. It is called "Pandemonium's Rise" an EP self-released by a very promising young band to come out of Sweden. PARANORM was formed in 2010 when Markus Hiltunen (vocals and rhythm guitar), Fredrik Kjellgren (lead guitar) and Marcus Bloom (bass) met in high school, later on they were joined by drummer Karl Askebro and started composing and rehearsing which then led to a release of a demo.

I first heard of this band in my Facebook community page dedicated to Heavy Metal when somebody posted their song "Shattered Future Tense" and told me to check it out. At first I thought it was just another band that wanted me to check their music out, I don't have a problem with this because that is why the page is there so that new bands can be heard and divulged, but they usually tend to be a bit boring and repetitive (not to say that they are bad, but they are just not my style). Suffice it to say I was completely mind blown when I heard their tune. The riff was killer, the lyrics were meaningful and mature (not just the generic Death / Black Metal thing, or the generic Thrash Metal anthems, which, before you get offended, does not mean I am diminishing any band, just that it can become quite repetitive after a while), from the very beginning I was already into the band. What most surprised me about this song was the acoustic interlude which then led an amazing solo done by Mr. Kjellgren, which I already consider him to be the next Guitar God along with Ol Drake from EVILE.

The next thing I did was to check out the rest of their songs, suffice it to say they were just as mind-blowing as "Shattered Future Tense". They all have headbanging-till-your-head-falls-off killer riffs, solos that will make many a young Metalhead air guitar to, all interlocked by the bass and drums work of Bloom and Askebro and the excellent rhythm guitar of Markus Hiltunen.

It has been a very long time since I felt this excited about a new band, I believe PARANORM to be one of the Music Titans of our century, if this is only their EP I have high hopes for their debut album.
