DAZR

From the bands website:
DAZR is a classic Hard Rock band out of Greenville, South Carolina bringing raw power of rock and roll back to its roots in a time where polished production often drowns out the heart and grit of music. DAZR fills the void by getting back to the basics, no auto tune, no backing tracks just music that's alive, gritty and full of raw energy. It's loud, it's passionate. Our live shows? Intense, we're all in giving you a performance that feels like a celebration of everything rock music stands for, we're not trying to recreate the past, we're bringing that timeless energy into the present blending the classic sound with our own unique style, it's an experience that feels fresh, yet like something you've been missing for a long time. If you've never heard of us before, here's what you can expect: a stripped down no-frills rock show that's just as real as it gets, no overproduced fluff, no distractions - just straight up hard hitting rock n roll. So if you're ready for a new kind of rock experience, one that's loud, passionate and full of soul, join us. We don't just play music- WE LIVE IT!!!! Guaranteed you'll feel every note!!!
The debut self-titled EP was self-released on March 1, 2025 and is available through the band’s website https://www.thebanddazr.com
Opening with “Unsatisfied” that comes in with an early VAN HALEN vibe courtesy of the guitar styling of Grant Hendrix (Eddie would be so proud) delivering a strong dose of crunchy and gnarly crouch grabbing riffs preceding the commanding vocals that help deliver the pure rapture of old school, down and dirty heavy metal. “Tough” opens by teasing ever so slightly with a Glam metal sound that had me putting on my spandex and reaching for the hair spray, but just as soon as I got the pants pulled up, BAM, punched right in the balls with a castrating fury of bombastic and brawny riffs over riding the brazen musical landscape lambasting and peeling the paint off my walls, now the only problem is getting these damn spandex off with hair spray in my eyes. “Can’t Take it Anymore” is a magnificent rock ballad that gave me chills with the passionate and heartfelt vocals that create a sensual atmosphere of anticipation blasting into fast, turbo riffs bundled together by the razor sharp backing rhythm section, an absolute masterful song. “Night Lady” has an intoxicating eeriness with a heavy tempo, scorching and immersing into a cauldron of muscular adrenaline riffs balanced perfectly with raw and edgy vocals.
I’ve had this EP spinning non-stop on my playlist over the last two weeks in the car, at the gym, at home and at my parole board meeting (kidding, just seeing who’s paying attention). DAZR is a band that combined the parameters of old school hard rock headbanging with a flair and twist of unique and captivating musicianship that is robustly merged with tried-and-true quintessential rock lyrics. For such a young band to deliver a polished and memorable debut EP is damn straight impressive and gives us all hope that this next generation of metal is in good hands.
