In a way the same story repeats itself when it comes to the career decisions that the Greek Hard Rock vocalist, George Gakis, made in his the past period of time. After being the main man of THE TROUBLEMAKERS, while in the process making a figure out of himself in Greece and in the surrounding areas, Gakis went on to create his own material, which won't be tagged under THE TROUBLEMAKERS sign. With his influence he gathers great Greek musicians to man the posts along with the exciting German drummer Mark Cross (ex-PRIMAL FEAR / FIREWIND / OUTLOUD) for the creation of his new solo album, "Too Much Ain't Never Enough", released via Perris Records. I don't know about you guys but this story reminds me a lot of the stories of Ronnie James Dio, Jorn Lande, even Coverdale. However, in every story of decision making the outcomes turn out to be different, so dwelling on is a must sometimes. In the case of Mr. Gakis over here, his outcome came out pretty good indeed.

"Too Much Ain't Never Enough" has the fine Hard Rock and Bluesy edge of WHITESNAKE and DEEP PURPLE while the stellar lead guitar showcases and several of the rhythm sections reminded me of late DOKKEN material. It is easy to recognize a strong 80s influences that even turn their foreboding gaze into the realm of AOR from time to time. Gakis is attacking from all fronts, though at first I thought that his voice pattern was a little tired and fatigued. Fast I came to realize that this guy has his way with cracking catchy rockers like "Days of Rock 'n' Roll", where I also enjoyed the great riffing and Cross's drumming performance, "Too Much Ain't Never Enough", which blasted me with amazing lead guitar solos and easy made Rock rhythms that just won't die out. Also there are the emotional moments that are the ball and chain of every album of the same where Gakis fitted like velvet glove like "It Aint Over Till It's Over", "Under My Skin" and fine Greek sung tune of "Mi Me Koitas", which sounded majestic. On a personal note, I identified quite a lot with "Days of Rock 'n' Roll" because it sounded to me as if Gakis is letting everyone know that you should embrace those days close to your heart and keep on rocking till the end of the road.

Gakis created more or less what was expected from a Hard Rock singer. Kip Winger made quite a good job on handling the production of "Too Much Ain't Never Enough" and assisted Gakis on reaching the superiority he wanted. This piece of music is quite pleasing and mostly recommends for anyone who appreciates 80s Hard Rock with great shredding and pleasurable moments of sensation
