This is something that needs to be checked out and pronto. I don't mean the marooned Mad Max look alike clothing that the members wore on the cover; it's the composure that runs through this music and the change that this band has been going since the creators' earlier stage of development. BLESSED BY A BROKEN HEART from the US is the first band that I have heard that left Metalcore in favor of the good ole' fashioned Sleaze / Hard Rock and traditional Heavy Metal. Though their new and third album, "Feel The Power", via the band's new label Tooth & Nail Records, still has several reminiscent of their past Metalcore days, it is a heck of a radiating light for the rough and tough old school Heavy Metal, just the way the 80s dictated.

I think that it is good that BLESSED BY A BROKEN HEART kept some of their old face as I believe that it savored the music out of being too plastically commercialized. Virtually the entire tracklist contains highly accessible and catchy tracks, yet there are kick downs, maintained well by the awesome rhythm section of Slater & Tyler Hoare, and sporadic screaming Hardcore growls barked out of the passionate voice of Tony Gambino. Sometimes it was really hard for me to consider that it is actually the same vocalist, especially after listening him singing the power ballad, which by the way it stopped sounding like a ballad near its end, of "Forever". That only thing that could be said about Mr. Gambino is that he has a large amount of talent stuck into him. Furthermore in the album, the two guitarists, Shred Sean & Sam Ryder destroyed with a large quantity of solos styles that range from the books of Rock and Metal. Talk about diversity there, sometimes they hit with 70s oriented Hard Rock solos and every now and then switched their gain into slicing Metal solos bred in the 80s, even on a fun track like "Rockin' All Night" or the squeaky "Scream It Like You Mean It" that the former is just too much of the same old stuff with almost not shred of originality at all and the second just sounds as if BLESSED BY A BROKEN HEART were a Pop boy band. I think that even with trying to make a point with a hell of shift between genres, there should be tiny limitations in order not stir devoted Rock & Metal fans away.

For fans of 80s Metal it will be easy to get caught in the web of "Feel The Power". It is easy, fluent and it has these tough moments of Hardcore bearing an old personality of blood & guts. Despite the fact that it is hard to isolate the greatest tracks, I propose to have a go on "Sleepless Nights", "Deathwish", "Shut Up and Rock", "Holdin' Back For Nothin'", "Love Nightmare" and "Skate Or Die". If you want war you got it but if you want true Metal and Hard Rock along with a little dose mustard on the side, this album is for you, go for it now. BLESSED BY A BROKEN HEART are on the right way to capture many hearts, I know that they caught mine and I am glad they did.
