Rogue To Redemption
Tuk Smith And The Restless Hearts
Tuk Smith And The Restless Hearts are an American rock band from Nashville who are fronted by formers Biters leader Tuk Smith originally from Atlanta. The debut album “Ballad Of A Misspent Youth” was released in 2022 via MRG but they parted ways with the label a year later. ”Rogue To Redemption” has been released on Gypsy Rose Records founded by Tuk Smith for this album and albums for the future. The album was produced and mixed by Chris Duggan (Green Day, Iggy Pop & U2) & also Tuk himself. The album was written over a three year period, recorded right up to the last minute of summer this year. Most of the album was recorded by Tuk at his home.
“Rogue To Redemption” is a quite short album clocking in at over 35 minutes, which has impact from the first track “Take The Long Way” which is a great rock n' roll opener very catchy melody, catchy chorus a very addictive po/rock track.”Glorybound” is just as good as the opener its a catchy track with some punk elements to the melody, with some nice guitar touches which you just can't help but turn it up and sing-along to. ”End Of An Era” has a touch of sadness about it reminiscing of days gone by, but still has a wonderful feeling to it as well. ”Still A Dreamer” has a deep bass groove to it with a Thin Lizzy in their sound to it with also some 70's glam thrown in for good measure which is meant as a huge compliment because it is a superb track vocally and musically. ”Little Renegade” is another great pop/punk track which just flows with great lyric, great melody, huge uplifting song with a huge sing along chorus.
”Blood On The Stage” has an indie band feel to it and Jelly Fish influences which just builds into another cool track which will stand the test of time, an amazing track. ”Lost Boys” has some nice keyboard and synth touches a great pop rock track which is uplifting all the way through with hints of Cheap Trick which are quite apparent , a great guitar solo gives the track the perfect balance. ”Down The Road” is a great 70's rock style track which reminds me of Mott The Hoople and 70's David Bowie with Tuk Smith also putting his own stamp on the track with superb vocals. ”Rogue To Redemption” is a great title track which is a great rocker of a track, with great classic hard rock guitar riffs, groove & a great guitar solo. ”When The Party's Over” the last track on the album is another nod to some more 70's glam rock influence mixed with some pop rock touches ,a great way to end the album with momentum.
Tuk Smith And The Restless Hearts “Rogue To Redemption” is just fantastic, a brilliant record. Every track could be a single, which is a rarity these days for a lot of albums. It has everything catchy choruses ,fantastic hooks ,superb melodies and guitars, feel good lyrics & choruses with great song writing. Tuk Smith And The Reckless Hearts deserve to be very successful off the back of this album and in turn have a great future. This will be definitely a top album of 2024 for me! Highly recommend you buy this album its killer and should not me missed.
