Ahnengrab - Omen album cover

AHNENGRAB are coming from Frankfurt of Germany and are performing Pagan Black Metal. They have released two full length albums (plus "Omen"). They have formed in 2006 and their first album and self titled was released in 2008.

AHNENGRAB's new album is a complicated situation. Here we're dealing with classic Metal riffing and some Black Metal influences. Alright, they have epic atmosphere and pagan themes of lyrics and of course they know how to handle all these. They have the experience to make a Pagan Metal album. They have influences from THYRFING, FALKENBACH and staff like that and some personal characteristics like the vocals of Cristoph H..

Some melodies remind me Power Metal bands like RUNNING WILD but not so vivid to say that they are playing Power Metal. All the tracks are pretty structured and don't lack in any section. The guitarists are using their ideas pretty good without mixing a lot of Metal styles and they are composing melodies different track by track without the fan is being bored of this. Extra advantage the excellent production and the fascinating cover artwork. I believe that their next step will be very important for their career because they have the skills to climb higher in this difficult kind of Metal. Till then...
