SHAWN JAMES brought The Muerte Mi Amor Tour to Oklahoma City's Beer City Music Hall for an incredible night of music and a mid-week treat that helped break up the monotony of the work week. Shawn and his band played a lengthy set with no opening act and Beer City Music Hall was the perfect place for this show. It's a smaller venue making it a more intimate setting for new and old fans alike. Many acts with the talent this band has would play in a larger space so it was really special to be able to experience something that made the crowd feel closer to the artist. Shawn is well known for his cover songs, but has a magnificent discography of originals as well. This night was the perfect mix of both. He's a phenomenal musician that can appeal to fans of many genres, including metal, R&B, blues, and more. He played his covers of AUDIOSLAVE's "Like A Stone," IRON MAIDEN's "Number of the Beast," and BILL WITHERS' "Ain't No Sunshine" just for examples of his range. Plus, his voice is hauntingly beautiful and the musicians he brought along with him for this tour add so much more to his sound. SHAWN JAMES is 100 percent an artist rock and metal fans should be listening to and if there's ever a chance to see him in concert, don't hesitate.
