"Resist Control" by "REGICIDE" is a fierce declaration of modern Groove/Thrash Metal, laced with intense Hardcore elements. Hailing from Essex, England, this 2024 release is a well-crafted and powerfully executed album, brimming with energy and rage. From the very first moment,  creates a sonic landscape that is relentless in its pursuit of aggression and rebellion, yet polished enough to captivate even the most discerning listener. The album opens with an ominous introductory track, where the sounds of war—blaring sirens, the rapid-fire of machine guns, and echoing explosions—set the stage for the chaos to follow. It’s a stark and effective build-up, plunging the listener into the heart of conflict before the first proper track even begins.

“One by One” kicks off the musical assault with devastating guitar work that instantly commands attention. The guitars, thick and punishing, lay the foundation for the album’s core sound. From the outset, there is no mistaking the power and aggression that "REGICIDE" is about to deliver. The vocals are masterfully handled, shifting between piercing screams and deep guttural growls. These contrasting styles create a brutal, immersive atmosphere that leaves a lasting impact. The combination of growls and screams generates a weighty, oppressive feeling that perfectly complements the fierce instrumentation, signaling the album’s intense journey.

The next track, “You Ain’t Nobody”, embraces a faster, thrashier tempo. Here, the band showcases their Thrash Metal roots with razor-sharp precision. The song is punctuated by well-placed silences that build tension, giving the track a dynamic push-and-pull that keeps the listener on edge. The drums deliver blast beats with flawless timing, adding a sense of urgency and power that elevates the track. The vocals here are more raw and raspy, leaning heavily into the aggressive energy that defines this genre, yet there’s a remarkable sense of control in the chaos. This track, in particular, shines with its direct and unapologetic intensity.

“Suppression” introduces itself with a low, rumbling bass riff that lays the groundwork for a groove-heavy song. There’s an unmistakable Hardcore influence, especially in the vocal delivery and song structure. The riff is exceptionally well-composed, hitting that sweet spot between groove and heaviness, making it not only aggressive but also accessible. The balance of hardcore and thrash elements on this track is skillfully done, showcasing versatility and their ability to meld genres without losing their core identity.

The title track, “Resist Control”, begins on an epic and atmospheric note before quickly transforming into a classic thrash composition. The song features a memorable, anthemic chorus that lingers long after the track has ended. It’s one of those moments that feels designed to resonate with the audience, calling out for participation and embodying the rebellious spirit of the album.

“Disposable Crown” takes the listener back to the roots of Thrash Metal. The song is fast, furious, and tightly executed, with a riff that harkens back to the genre’s golden age. There’s a rawness to this track that feels like a homage to the pioneers of thrash, but "REGICIDE's" modern touch keeps it fresh and relevant. The execution here is sharp, and the energy, unrelenting.
