Once signed to the Italian label of Scarlet Records, TRYANT EYES, at least for now are on their own accord. Almost eight years have passed since their sophomore album, 'The Darkest Hour", TYRANT EYES came back with a new, and independent, release under the name of "The Sound Of Persistence". This new album also introduced the official debut of the new frontman, Claudius, and the bass player, Max. With these changes in personnel, TYRANT EYES went through slight changes in their musical perception. However I can only deem this album as a stage of development that someday would bear fruit but not on this release anyhow.

The new form of TYRANT EYES led me to some of the toughest Power Metal bands both in Europe and USA. Though the general influence seems to be rooted in the likes of IRON MAIDEN, the band's music came to cross with bands like ANGEL DUST, ICED EARTH, NOSTRADAMEUS and MORGANA LEFAY among others. The production is crunchy, slender but satisfying though it would have been great if it could have been depthy. The album's music is not the most melodic thing around but it has a sort of Thrashy edge with blinks towards the extreme. It would seem that the band wanted to overstretch its boundaries as much as they possibly could. In overall, these kinds of attempts maintained the diversities of the songs but on the other hand, I think that not everything turned out as intended.

"No Way No Limit" is the track that moved the core of my soul on this album. It is both dramatic, touching with great multilayered vocal section that spat greatness, heavy riffages al'a ICED EARTH and amazing C part of IRON MAIDENish melodies. "Friendship", which is delivered both in English and in German, is a wonderful ballad that seemed endless. Like many album closers of the same nature, it fulfilled its role. "Gravitation" and "Green Tiny Monsters" are very enjoyable especially the former that has a rather common harmonized C part but it is played out quite good. Nevertheless, more or less the rest of the tracklist are fillers, some better and some less.

I think that TYRANT EYES' music isn't even close to the common Power Metal that mainly surrounds the scene. I see "The Sound Of Persistence" as unique, along with the band's new vocalist that is an absolute wizard, though I think that this can't be the peak of the band's abilities.
