Cornerstone - Somewhere In America album cover

Oh my... I really fucked this up, I mistakenly thought this band was the CORNERSTONE from Denmark, The band formed by the ex-ROYAL HUNT members, but like all the things in life, this happened for a good reason: I have to say, this band really shocked me, it's something very different of what I'm used to listen to, but this doesn't mean it's a bad thing, it's the opposite. Without too much technique, only a good feel and a good production, this album could make you pass a good time; it's not something out of this world, but of course this will bring you different feelings, about the music you like (I assume the Metal in most of the cases).

With a good combination of mid tempo Pop-Rock rhythms, and the softer classic form of a ballad, this band will please your ears, maybe even making you sing along the times Patricia Hillinger puts the touch of her soul on some passages of the tracks. It clearly shows that she has a good voice, full of talent, and that could make the changes without warning, letting you trying to make the same... of course without success (at least it's my mom's case, ha ha).

From the beginning to the end, you would enjoy this album, because the way I see this band, they make music, not for technicality or virtuosism, not for the commercial industry's promised success, but only to have a good time, among them and transmitting this feeling to the listener.

They are not the best, they are not the only ones, they are not the "next big thing in music industry", but...what the hell, they are good, and they show me that there are too many things in the making of music, that made me feel like this review could pass by with the dust of the ages... But they'll be very happy to know there were people in this time that felt the same way I'm feeling right now.
