Noel Husser is an ambitious multi instrumentalist, songwriter and music enthusiast from Munich Germany. Noels passion for music extends to all music genres, as well as teaching guitar lessons full time Noel also provides the low end in Alternative rock band Leaving Caroline and spills his heart out on his solo music. Having released a 30 minute Rock Opera song “Tell Me Who I Am” in 2017,a full length Melancholic Gothic Rock Album “A Little Dream “ in 2020 and a “Foot Prints” A New Modern Rock single in 2021.Noel Husser brings us in 2024 A Modern Gothic Progressive EP in “Beyond” taking everything from the previous releases and enhancing everything in a fresh new way sounding even more darker, progressive and epic than before.

“Conscious” starts this EP off with dramatic style with choir style backing vocals ,then the vocals kick in which make this track very atmospheric ,also with the heavy guitar riffs and orchestral layers making this track a spectacle along with some nice synth injection. With that a haunting piano interlude around four minutes in brings the track down before the track lifts with a nice guitar solo bringing the track to a dramatic close. ”Beyond”  the single from this EP and title track has a more up tempo  melody, the groove in the bass a prominent feature in this track ,the vocals are eerie and dark lyrics, which fit the ambience, mood and melody of the track, as do the beautiful piano chords, along with some great heavy riffs and solo. ”Build The Character” has a steady drum beat infused with cool piano tones intertwined with some heavy guitar riffs. Those deep toned vocals sound very unique with some very dramatic orchestral melodies set the mood for this track which again sounds spectacular. ”In These Lands” sounds a more melodic track, heavier guitar riffs in parts carries on with mood, sound and vision Noel Husser had for this EP very atmospheric at times operatic. ”Evolve” the final track on this EP features Bjorn Strid the frontman of the band Soilwork which has the sound of rain along with some haunting piano and synth melodies in the intro. It is a music spectacle which has everything thrown into the track heavy in parts, orchestral in parts, it also has a choir a superb epic track to end this EP in dramatic style.

Before I reviewed this EP I had never listened to this artist nor Modern Gothic Progressive Music but this EP blew me away! I listened to this EP with an open mind but I must confess I loved it. I appreciated how it sounded vocally and musically. It is a musical spectacle and the sound and production is really good. Noel Husser has produced something very special here which needs to be heard and appreciated by music lovers of this genre all over the world.
