The German metallers return with their brand new, fifth full-length album and the killing can begin. This is one of the albums I was impatiently waiting for, since NEAERA have managed to earn my respect with their consistency. "Forging The Eclipse" cannot be an exception since the quintet sounds strong as fuck once again!
After their formation in 2003, NEAERA have managed to build a respectful reputation with pretty good albums and energetic live performances. Metal Blade knew where to invest. The big bang came with the band's sophomore release "Let The Tempest Come" (2006), when the same titled song was playing in almost every Metal club.

So we reach 2010, with the band releasing "Forging The Eclipse" (damn, the cover artwork is really god, thumbs up for Terje Johnsen) and hoping for a success equal or even greater than the one mentioned above. The album enters you to its world with "The Forging", a melodic intro with clean guitar and before you even know it, you receive a punch in the face with "Heaven's Descent". The tempo changes in the blink of an eye with fast outbreaks giving their place to brutal breakdowns, while the guitars are spitting their poisonous melodies. What I realized with "Forging The Eclipse" is that NEAERA sound a lot more like HEAVEN SHALL BURN as time goes by, without of course implying that they copy their sound. NEAERA have managed to craft their own, unique style. Those two bands have actually defined the sound of the German modern extreme scene.

So, why does this band differ from any other band out there? Because you don't get a typical melodic Death Metal band. What distinguishes NEAERA from the rest of their counterparts is this unique fusion of melodic Death Metal and Hardcore, which makes them sound familiar to both scenes and earn them more and more fans.
The band will be touring Europe in November/December along with SOILWORK, CALIBAN, ALL THAT REMAINS and BLEED FROM WITHIN. Do you hear me Greek promoters?
