WAR FROM A HARLOT'S MOUTH is a band that I didn't know, since I'm not into the Deathcore scene that much. Here we are dealing with their third full length album "MMX" and, to tell you the truth, I made a big effort to listen to it. Yes it is official; I'm not into that genre at all. But I will try to be as objective as I can.

WAR FROM A HARLOT'S MOUTH was formed in 2005 in Berlin, Germany. Their history is not that impressive. During those five years they had many lineup changes with the last one being Nico replacing Steffan as the new vocalist, just after the recordings of their debut album "Transmetropolitan" in 2007. WAR FROM A HARLOT'S MOUTH's second album, "In Shoals", was released in April 2009.

So now, here we are after a year with "MMX". For Deathcore fans this album is great. Noisy orchestrations, growling vocals (but you can understand at some points the lyrics) and a very good production and mixing. The album is full of changes in rhythm and tempo and there are some good riffs that will make you bang your head. But, I believe that the Jazz elements could have been less existing (or non existing). I can't hide the fact that after some listenings I got a headache. Probably because I'm not into the "-core" thing.

Anyway, as I said "MMX" is an album that fans of the Deathcore style will probably like. As for all the others, I think we will continue to listen to the genres of Metal we used to. For non-fans this album is worth a 3/10, but for the fans I believe it deserves a...
