The first band that ever played at Wacken Open Air releases debut album
30 years after being the first ever headliner at the legendary festival Wacken Open Air the band SKYLINE releases their debut Album "Uncovered"
The SKYLINE History
Skyline was founded in the 80s as one of the first regional Metal and Rock cover bands in Germany at that time. Among the members was Thomas Jensen (former Bass player in Skyline) and Andreas Göser (present Drummer) and together with Holger Hübner they in 1989 organised a small Open Air event that today is known as Wacken Open Air. Andreas later stepped out of event making and Thomas stepped out of Skyline to focus on W:O:A. The band was dormant from 1992 to 2009 where the band with Andreas and several new members were asked to open the main stages at the 20th anniversary of the festival, they did and have been opening the main stages every year since.
Up till 2019 Skyline had been a band covering the great rock and metal classics. Therefore, the title of the album, Uncovered, seemed just right since the band for the first time in its over 30 years of existence decided to write an entire album with original songs. The sound of the album is a mixture of melodic rock and classic heavy metal performed with great conviction. (Add to that 30 years of musical experience.)
Today's line up is Andreas "Gösy" Schlüter: Drums, Andreas Laude-Schwedewsky: Bass, Clemens Leitow: Guitar, Lars Jacobsen: Guitar, Dietmar Wulfgramm: keyboard, Henning Basse: Vocals and Dan Hougesen: Vocals.
