BERZERKER LEGION have announced the details of their first album 'Obliterate the Weak' which will be released 31 January 2020 .

Vocalist Jonny Pettersson explains the lyrical theme of 'Obliterate the Weak':

" The lyrical concept is based around how religion is poisoning the world, and even after so many years of evolution, development , we still have huge parts of the world that believes in a fairytale, people who believe that this fairytale is worth going to war over, worth killing for and uses as an excuse for truly malevolent acts. These are weak minded sheep that will do anything in the name of whatever god they believe in. Obliterate the weak draws from the will to eradicate all forms of religion and tells a story of atrocities made in the name of a fiction. "

BERZERKER LEGION was founded in 2016 by guitarists Tomas Elofsson (Hypocrisy) and Alwin Zuur (Asphyx) with a vision to create death metal of the most belligerent quality, they recruited a line-up of solid well-known musicians consisting of James Stewart (Vader) on drums, Jonny Pettersson (Wombbath) on vocals and Fredrik Isaksson (Dark Funeral) on bass to complete the Legion.

Saying the album songs transpire massively produced invigorating heavy death metal is an understatement. BERZERKER LEGION knock out with warlike triumphant, powerfully addictive harmonies that will turn them into an unstoppable beast in a live situation and on record.

TRACK BY TRACK
1. Rise of the Berzerkers:
Instrumental song starting with threatening short intro, followed by harmonic thrilling guitars to prepare the listener of all songs still to come.

2. World in Despair:
Subsequently after the first song this is a faster song, aggressive yet melodic and full of 2 guitar harmonies. Old school breaks. World in Despair has a constant powerful drive from first second till the last note. Short but extremely powerful song.

3. I Am the Legion:
In this song we slow down just a little bit. Catchy massive easy riffing with a lot of double bass drum, slow harmonic melodies and now and then we added some symphonies in this song. This was our second video we shared on the worldwide web.

4. Of Blood and Ash:
This was the first lyrical video we uploaded on YouTube. Starting off with a massive pounding brutal old school riff, short break, and back again to that pounding groove with vocals. This song has a lot of old Gothenburg melody style. A harmonic break int the middle with the refrain makes this a very strong diverse song.

5. Obliterate the Weak:
The title track of the album. Easy listening and heavy tempos. Lots of groove in this song. With a very catchy vocal structure. A song where your head automatically starts to move. A banger.

6. The Falling Dawn:
A song for double bass lovers. Pretty primitive death metal song. Catchy Melodies. Brutality, an epic fast double bass refrain. It's all in there. Now and then it contains some symphonies to give it that extra touch.

7. King of all Masters:
This is the slowest song on the album. Slow but still extreme heavy. A lot of harmonies ca be heard divided over the whole song, and in general in a more doomy way, basic drums alternated with double bass, Some short guitar leads and a fade out end, except the vocals continue a bit longer shouting in a hysterical way " I am The King Of All Masters"

8. Upon the Throne of Mortem:
One of the shorter songs on the album. A song which starts with a fast-aggressive tempo. Vocals begin early in the song to give it that extra power on the first riff. Halfway the song we slow down a bit with palm muted guitarwork filled up with harmonic melody, followed by a small lead. The final part of the song continues the aggressive part followed by a fast but melodic outro.

9. A Lurking Evil:
Hit your guitar strings. Wait for drums and off we go. Double bass drum. Groovy melodies and massive raging riffs are the main theme of this song. Some chords added to the refrain to create that extra atmosphere.

10. In the Name of The Father:
The song with the most old school sound on the album, and with a faster tempo and straight forward structure, it hits like a punch to the guts.

11. Death Euphoria:
This is a bonus track which just can be heard on the CD version. The song starts with drums only. Overall a slow song but with extreme fast double bass parts. This song has leads as not heard before on the album which makes this extra song another highlights and the CD version extra special
