"a masterpiece of emotion and tension" - Exclaim!
"Wear Your Wounds is a masterpiece and serves as a poignant reminder, that for many of us, survival is triumph enough." - Apathy and Exhaustion
"WYW is Bannon at his best... soars through its dynamic and purposefully uncomfortable serenity, calculated restraint and disposition to growing crescendos of sound and focus! It's a profound journey." - Treble Zine
Wear Your Wounds are currently recording a new album with engineer Kurt Ballou at God City Studios. This recording marks the first time the live lineup of the band; Jacob Bannon (Converge), Mike McKenzie (The Red Chord, Stomach Earth, Unraveller, etc), Adam McGrath (Cave In, Nomad Stones, etc), Sean Martin (Twitching Tongues, ex-Hatebreed, ex-Kid Cudi), and Chris Maggio (ex-Trap Them, ex-Sleigh Bells, etc) have properly written and recorded material together. Creative contributions from Ben Chisholm (Chelsea Wolfe, White Horse, etc), and Gared O'Donnell (Planes Mistaken for Stars, Hawks and Doves) are also expected. The new album is slated for an early/mid 2019 release on Deathwish with touring to follow.
In 2017 Wear Your Wounds released WYW (their debut double album) and "Arthritic Heart" (a New Noise Magazine single). A live band was then assembled for a number of shows including Roadburn 2017. Later on that year, Dunedevil (an experimental album) was released; a companion piece to Bannon's abstract art book of the same name. In 2018, WearYour Wounds released their Live at the BBC 12" LP at Maida Vale Studio (MV4). That same year, Wear Your Wounds also played select shows on the East Coast and Europe including an appearance at Roadburn 2018, which was also curated by Bannon.
