Zillion is a newcomer band and "Zillion is its first album. I cannot define their music with certainty because they stand on the line that separates Hard Rock from Heavy Metal. The most knowledgeable definition of their music probably is "Melodic Hard Rock/Heavy Metal.
Zillion reminds me a little bit of Kamelot, Savatage's "Wake of Magellan, Whitesnake and Ten and I think that these maybe are some of their influences. The songs are quite good as compositions and have a very good feeling. They are very melodic and emotional.
On the technical part, now, I do not think that we have much to say. Once can figure that out just by using his eyes! Sandro Giampietro is considered to be one of the best guitar players in Germany and that is true because the riffs and solos of the guitar are quite good. Furthermore, he has a very good voice and reminds me a little bit of Zak Stevens (Circle II Circle, x-Savatage).
On the bass guitar we find one of the most familiar faces, coming from Germany. I don't think that there are many people who've been listening to Heavy Metal at least for a couple of years and don't know Jens Becker. For those who do not know him I will only say that he plays the bass guitar in Grave Digger and among all the bands that he was part of in the past two of them are Running Wild and X-Wild.
Mike Terrana certainly needs no introductions. He is one of the best and most technical drummers, not only in Germany, but in the whole world. He is the current drummer of Rage and he also has collaborated with Yngwie Malmsteen, Axel Rudi Pell and many other artists.
In conclusion I would like to say that everyone who likes Melodic Hard Rock and Heavy Metal will enjoy this album.
