March 24, 2018
Deathbound Records is proud to announce that Ottawa-based Doom Metal band, Longhouse, is one of the five hopeful Canadian bands nominated for a JUNO Award.
Longhouse's sophomore album, II: Vanishing, continues to diarize frontman, Josh Cayer's exploration of his Indigenous heritage and tackles important historic and contemporary issues affecting Indigenous Peoples in Canada, such as the Indian Residential School System and Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls.
The band is nominated for Metal/Hard Music album of the year at this year's Canadian music awards, the Junos.
"We are extremely honoured to be recognized alongside such talented Canadian metal bands." says Cayer, who is proud of the opportunity to showcase metal as another medium for Indigenous artists to flourish and share stories, culture, and experiences.
Tune in on March 25 on CBC-TV, or CBCMusic.ca/juno to see if Longhouse brings home the JUNO award. In the meantime, give II:Vanishing a spin on Bandcamp.
