De Profundis are hitting the headlines everywhere at the moment as we build up to the release of their fifth album, The Blinding Light Of Faith ' released through Transcending Obscurity Records on May 10th. So far two tracks from the album have been released as tasters of what's to come and the reaction from the metal community has been overwhelming.

One of the key features of De Profundis' driving, complex sound is the outstanding drumming, courtesy of sticksman extraordinaire Tom Atherton ' and his skills have now been recognised by world famous drum kit manufacturers TAMA. Tom is now a TAMA endorsed artist, joining the likes of Nicke Andersson (Death Breath, Entombed, Hellacopters) and Bill Bruford (Yes, King Crimson) on the company's illustrious roster. TAMA have also produced signature kits for metal superstars Lars Ulrich (Metallica) and Charlie Benante (Anthrax).

Speaking about his new endorsement deal the De Profundis drummer said...

2018 will be a busy year for Tom and De Profundis as they hit the road in support of The Blinding Light Of Faith so this support and recognition from TAMA couldn't have come at a better time.
