VENOM PRISON: Premiere Live Track Ahead of Animus Deluxe Release.
February 22, 2018
VENOM PRISON have today premiered a live track from the deluxe edition of their debut album, Animus. Devoid is one of five live tracks - recorded on the road last summer - that is part of the deluxe edition, due for release this Friday via Prosthetic Records. An accompanying video, shot by Jake Owens across a number of live dates, demonstrates the frenetic energy of VENOM PRISON as they prepare to head out across Europe supporting Trivium and Power Trip.
Next month VENOM PRISON will embark on their biggest tour yet - supporting heavy metal titans, Trivium on their next European tour alongside Code Orange and Power Trip. Dates are below.
VENOM PRISON's unflinching attitude to extreme metal has caught the attention of passionate music fans and critics alike, setting them apart. With a rejuvenated rhythm section in place, the band has started work on their second full length album which is due to materialise later in the year via Prosthetic Records. Until then, revisit Animus in deluxe form - an uncompromising aural assault that tackles subjects such as social Darwinism, misogyny, rape culture and the rejection of religion.
Prosthetic Records will reissue the definitive, deluxe edition of the Animus. The CD version is completely repackaged in a deluxe, 2 CD digi-pak including a live album of tracks captured on the road which includes live favourite Babylon The Whore, taken from their debut EP. The live tracks were recorded by Steve Kent on the band's 'Sacrificial Summer' tour in August 2017, and then later mixed and mastered by Tom Dring. The limited, deluxe vinyl is limited to just 500 copies, in purple splatter with the bonus live CD also included.
Animus is available to purchase here.
Since the release of their debut album towards the end of 2016, VENOM PRISON have been on quite the wild ride. The release of Animus opened the floodgates on a relentless stream of activity that has cemented the band as a must-see live act. From major festival appearances at Download and on the main stage at Bloodstock, to winning 'Best New Band' at the 2017 Metal Hammer UK Awards or touring with Suicide Silence and Aversions Crown, Gorguts and Fallujah ' 2017 was most definitely their year. 2018 doesn't show any signs of halting the pace they've picked up, as VENOM PRISON will embark on their biggest tour yet, and head back to the studio for album number two.
