We are stoked to welcome MARATON to our family! MARATON is a new and intense act from Norway, mixing the realms of pop, rock, metal and prog - unbound by the iron chains of the progressive music genre. Their debut album will be released via Indie Recordings later this year - and the first glimpse of it is already here as they release their first single "Blood Music" today! Despite this strange and wonderful mix, the tracks present themselves as surprisingly refreshing and catchy, and at the same time timeless ' something to be enjoyed and absorbed through more than one listen.

The vocalist of Maraton, Fredrik Bendiksen, commented on 'Blood Music':
"Imagine yourself in a situation where your body is totaly out of key. The main component to the balance in your structural anotomy is no longer in your possession. The phantom pain of a person who used to be a part of you that is no longer there. The song was mainly made to color the state of mind when you loose someone dear to you. When you feel alone and in need to shape yourself from scratch again. But it can also be a desperate feeling after a long term relationship breakup. I've been through both!"

MARATON pushes the boundaries between genres, mixing machine like drums and roaring bass groundwork with shimmering guitars, ethereal keys and Fredrik Bergersen Klemp's sacral vocal performance. Since its inception in 2010, the band has sought to create a style of music which combines the rhythmic heaviness from bands such as Mars Volta and Meshugga with the pop aesthetics of Muse.
