Heretic Nation
Vendetta

The British band returns with its second effort Heretic Nation from Lion Music, after its debut album Tyranny Of Minority a couple of years ago. VENDETTA come and put their stand in the bazaar of Metal; let's see what they offer. Heavy Metal with melodic parts, galloping bass, that sometimes becomes extremely tiring.
Delusion makes a good start but lacks the power in production, unfortunately the whole album suffers from false arrangements in that field. Age Of Annihilation and New Horizon go to the other side and remind a lot of Heavy Metal made in USA. My Revelation and Face Your Demons present profoundly the JUDAS PRIEST and generally the N.W.O.B. H.M signs while the instrumental Skaro weds Y. Malmsteen with IRON MAIDEN.
This release is pure old school Heavy Metal, however the album's cover doesn't lead us in that direction. Edward Box and Fred Purser, who produced Heretic Nation in Newcastle Upon Tyne, were not enough willing to experiment in the mastering process or fell in the trap of making this album sounding vintage. Yes, of course vintage sound can be reached, but not in this release. This band distributes some good elements it possesses here, because it consists of good musicians, but the production subtracts a lot from their effort. Next time I am thinking of fat production, I am thinking of sustains and a more personal stigma.
