Moon Of The Dead, which is the English translation for TOTENMOND is back with a brand new album and although this band is active for 18 whole years this is the very first time I hear about them. Let's see some facts behind this band.

Back in 1984/1985 there was a Punk band by the name WERMUT, which was formed by Pazzer and S.P. Senz. The band lasted until 1990, when it changed its name to TOTENMOND and took a turn towards the more aggressive and brutal side of music. Since then, TOTENMOND have released numerous full-length albums, as well as a couple of EP's writing down their own history in the Metal scene.

The German metallers are in a journey to mix elements like Thrash, Death, Black, Hardcore and some Grind. When you try to do something like this only one thing is sure, the result will be nothing more than boring, boring and... yeah, boring. The band's songs are really monotonous and despite the fact they try to mixture all those elements in their music, they still manage to be distant enough from the word diversity. Honestly, in the approximately 48 minutes of this album there were only a few times that TOTENMOND attracted my attention.

This album is suggested only to people who like relentless Metal full of blasts and harsh vocals and are into the whole complex riffing thingie. For me Thronrauber was a bit boring (I am trying to be gentle) and will probably never enter my CD player again. These guys have the technique, but not the inspiration for something as different as their musical plan.
