Hammerhead originally formed in the late '70s and played throughout the '80s, becoming known as part of theNWOBHMscene, after releasing the single "Time Will Tell c/w Lonely Man" in 1981, which reached No 5 in the British Heavy Metal charts. After around 15 years apart the band reformed in 2005, and have been playing regularly ever since. The band's afterlife has proved to be more fruitful than first time around, having released three albums: "Will To Survive" (which received 8/10 in Classic Rock magazine), "Headonizm" (both released in 2005), and most recently "The Sin Eater".

"The Sin Eater", Hammerhead's newest effort which includes 7 tracks, has been recorded at Linden Studios in 2014, and released on CD and limited edition LP in the summer of 2015, on High Roller Records.

Due to popular demand, Hammerhead are making a return appearance at Brofest 2016 in Newcastle, and will also be opening up Hard Rock's Hell Prog 4 in North Wales in March, along with some of the top names from the world of Prog Rock, including Focus' Ian Anderson (Jethro Tull), Von Hertzen Brothers or Caravan.

In other news,onFebruary 19, 2016, Hammerhead will release special "Brofest Exclusive" 7" single with two tracks: "Angel's Fall" and "Time Will Tell", which were recorded live at the Brofest in 2015.
