Sleepless – Through Endless Black
December 1, 2024
If you are one of those Metalheads who does dare to try something new without having to tread unknown territories, you should listen to this SLEEPLESS album. “Through Endless Black” will not disappoint you.
review
Steel Inferno - Rush Of Power
December 1, 2024
If you are able to stand or sit still while you are listening to “Rush Of Power” you are either dead on your way there. I don’t care if you like this kind of Speed Metal or not, this will get your juices flowing and your body moving.
review
Mercyless - Those Who Reign Below
November 28, 2024
With over 30 years of pure unapologetic death comes a vile display of blasphemy
review
Aries Descendant - From The Ashes Of Deceit
November 27, 2024
As soon as the intro “From The Ashes Of Deceit” starts you are expecting warriors to stand up and point their sword to the skies and start shouting about True Metal.
review
Atreyu - The Pronoia Sessions
November 27, 2024
The music is all acoustic, but still just (or even more) impressive as the originals are. But because they are all different, you should imagine the word ‘Reimagined’ behind every one of them.
review
Thanatos - Four Decades Of Death
November 27, 2024
I can only applaud Agonia Records for releasing “Four Decades Of Death”. Plus, we need to thank THANATOS themselves for rerecording some of their songs and adding the 2006 and 2018 demos to finish the album.
review
The Watcher - Out Of The Dark
November 27, 2024
This is NWOBHM based, Doom inspired Heavy Metal with enough oomph to keep your mind occupied and working for over 36 minutes.
review
Decayed Existence - The Beginning Of Sorrows
November 20, 2024
With over 30 years of experience Decayed Existence is bringing you the stench of death that is infused with the elements of groove undertones.
review
High Warden - Astral Iron
November 18, 2024
As for rating “Astral Iron”, that is not too difficult. This is rather good put together, and there is not one time that you get bored whilst listening to what HIGH WARDEN is shoving our way. And as for making their music the centre of attention, I have to admit that with “Astral Iron” they have made the right choice. It is quite a pleasure to listen to the album.
review
Tantrum - No Place For The Damned
November 18, 2024
TANTRUM plays Heavy metal with Melodic and Speed Metal influences thrown in for good measure. It does give them a certain kind of sound.
review
Tygers Of Pan Tang - Animal Instinct (Reissue)
November 18, 2024
Since “Animal Instinct” was released, TYGERS OF PAN TANG have avoided giving us sub standard music. Every album since then has hit the mark in quality and intensity.
review
Warm Gadget – Sorrows
November 18, 2024
As for the music, it is exactly I would expect from an Industrial band that has their feet firmly in the nineties like WARM GADGET. No new found experimantation, no Extreme Metal sidelines, Simple and effective, with hard beating drums, good heavy bass playing, piercing guitar riffs and a very disturbing voice.
review
Whisky Of Blood - Diablesse Of Revolution
November 18, 2024
WHISKY OF BLOOD writes and plays simple and straight forward music without any difficult or elaborate parts. This is like an arrow. And I have to say that “Diablesse Of Revolution” is full of very pleasant songs that will make your life just that much easier than it was.
review
Brothers Of Metal – Fimbulvinter
November 12, 2024
This is the Melodic Viking version of MANOWAR and SABATON with just about every sort of Metal thrown in when appropriate. And even though it goes over the top on a regular basis, I just can’t stop listening to this.
review
Oceans – Happy
November 12, 2024
OCEANS is classed as Modern Metal by us at Metal Temple. When you look at the Metal Archives site it says that the band plays Post-Metal/Metalcore. I have to say that they are both right about what these musicians from Berlin in Germany and Vienna in Austria are producing on “Happy”.
review
Violent Definition - Progressive Obsoletion
November 12, 2024
Let’s take the bull by the horns; this is good stuff! These Greeks know how to play write, play, record and release Thrash Metal.
review
Carnosus - Wormtales
November 12, 2024
A disgusting display of melodic thech death in all the right ways hailing from Sweden
review
Trapeze - Lost Tapes Vol. 2
November 9, 2024
What makes TRAPEZE so impressive is the fact that without exemption every musician associated with or playing on the songs is a world class one. It doesn’t matter who was playing, Mel Galley set the path and the rest would follow, whilst still being allowed to put their own stamp on the parts they were playing.
review
Invasion – Invasion II
November 9, 2024
“Invasion II” is a very good album, from start to finish, with good musicianship and very good songs.
review
Vicious Rain - There Is Beauty In Letting Go
November 6, 2024
A torrent of Swiss Post-Hardcore blasing out of the town of Baden with emotion
review
Turbokill – Champion
November 5, 2024
“Champion” is my first encounter with TURBOKILL. And one thing becomes very clear from the very first listen; these guys know how to write and play bloody good riffs. Rather high paced, very intense and drenched with class.
review
Shining – Feberdrömmar
November 5, 2024
New album? Well, that’s not exactly true, as the original version of this album, called “8½: Feberdrömmar I Vaket Tillstånd” is from 2013. It was an in-betweener for the band between albums. Apparently a good one, as it is being rereleased.
review
Salem UK - Outer Limits
November 5, 2024
For those who are not familiar with the music SALEM UK plays, we are talking fast paced Melodic Heavy Metal. Whether you listen to the 2016 album “Dark Days” or anything later than that, it is easy recognisable as SALEM UK. That is not only because of the kind of music that is played, but is also due to the very distinctive and rather high pitched voice of singer Simon Saxby.
review
Retched - The Overlord Messiah
November 5, 2024
RETCHED plays US Metal. If you are prone to the early years of OMEN, you will certainly like the sound as well as the music. If you are a fan of the first albums of MALICE, you will love the music and find it a pity that the sound is lacking a bit of conviction.
review
Obnoxious Youth - Burning Savage
November 5, 2024
Listening to “Burning Savage” is quite a challenge. Not one song is sane from start to finish, with the title song as a perfect example. The thing is, when band goes mad, it is also very hard to properly hear and understand what is being sung/shouted/screamed.
review
Blackevil - Praise The Communion Fire For The Unhallowed Sacrament
November 5, 2024
The production of “Praise The Communion Fire For The Unhallowed Sacrament” is bloody good indeed. Crisp and clear where it concerns the Thrash and Heavy Metal parts, and vague and misty when Black Metal is reigning. But you can distinguish all the sounds being played all the time. That in itself is worth listening to this latest offering of BLACKEVIL
review
Pythonic - EP 1
November 4, 2024
Blasting out of the vast empty plains comes a metalcore torrent.

Thermality-The Final Hours

Heavenblack – Blindfolded
October 28, 2024
What HEAVENBLACK has going for themselves is that the know how to write songs, they are quite proficient on their instruments plus they have very competent singers in Marios Kouroupis and Dimitris Varvarigos.
review
Souls of Steel - Songs Of Steel
October 28, 2024
SOULS OF STEEL classes themselves as Heavy/Thrash Metal. Well, that is the right order, but I wouldn’t hesitate to add Power Metal to those qualifications. That is when you get the whole picture.
review
Theigns & Thralls – The Keep & The Spire
October 28, 2024
One thing is sure, the music of THEIGNS & THRALLS on "The Keep & The Spire" will have you dancing, tapping your feet, raising your tankard and sometimes even banging your head. That’s how addictive it is.
review
137 - Prey To Your Deception
October 22, 2024
What surprises me most of all when listening to “Prey To Your Deception” is the fact that 137 never had the luxury or pleasure of being signed to any label. To me that is like the very definition of a grave injustice.
review
Sign of the Jackal - Heavy Metal Survivors
October 22, 2024
As for the music on “Heavy Metal Survivors”, it is as straight forward as an arrow. Hard driven riffs, flanked by thumping bass sounds and very inspired drumming is what SIGN OF THE JACKAL is shooting at you. it works, and it will have you interested in a heartbeat.
review
Sinner's Blood - Dark Horizons
October 22, 2024
As for the musical direction SINNER’S BLOOD has chosen, it is Melodic Metal, with a mix of Heavy and Power Metal mixed in constantly, but also some slightly Industrial and even Gothic snippets here and there. And whilst listening to “Dark Horizons” I can only conclude that they do have their ducks in a row, as what SINNER’S BLOOD is playing is being done with a bucketload of conviction, a heap of enthusiasm, a lot of good sounding harmony vocals and an abundance of musical ability.
review
Stryper - When We Were Kings
October 22, 2024
The thing is, when the music starts you will immediately be able to identify it as STRYPER. The way the riffing is done, the sound of the guitars, the structures of the songs and of course the very distinctive voice of Michael Sweet make sure you know who you’re listening to.

War Dogs - Only The Stars Are Left
October 22, 2024
Spain is a country that is producing more and more bands that fit into the NWOTHM category. That in itself is quite commendable, as long as the bands in question make good music. One of those is WAR DOGS from Alicante, in the South of that country.
