Zombiefication

When I first received this promo to review; it didn't take too much guess work to figure out what genre ZOMBIEFICATION showcase as the band name and album title gave me the information I needed.
I am very happy to witness a rise of Metal bands coming from South America throughout my time as a Metal Music journalist; you have NERVOSA from Brazil, NECROSIS from Chile and now ZOMBIEFICATION from Mexico. The duo formed in the year 2009 where they went on to release their first demo "Stenching". From that moment on they have gone on to release "Midnight Stench" and "At The Caves Of Eternal".
Now onto their latest album "Procession Through Infestation"; I have to say at the first listen I did feel like I was being taken through a horror movie with the ambient sound effects of flesh eating zombies chasing after their terrified victims for a piece of their brains so I liked that aspect of the record. In terms of the music; as much as I love Death Metal I felt this album didn't offer up much juicy goodness. Not bad mind but just average in my opinion. The good I do have to offer up about this record is that it does provide some brutal tracks that will go down well at their live shows.
For fans of the band and this genre I think this will be a much devoured treat. For me personally they will need to pull something spectacular out of the hat to stand out from the crowd.
