Metal maniacs, rejoice! I'm proud to present to you: TRIVIUM; signed via Roadrunner Records, hailing from the United States of America - performing Metalcore/Thrash/Heavy Metal, on their 9^th album entitled "The Sin And The Sentence" (released 20^th of August, 2017).

Since formation in 1999; the quintet in question have 8 albums behind them, I'm introduced to their 9^th deliverance - "The Sin And The Sentence". I have had a fair share of TRIVIUM in the past; I saw them at HELLFEST 2014, and they were surprisingly good - not being heavily into the Metalcore sub-genre, they still provided a solid show - due to the abundant amount of their influenced genres at their disposal. They opened with a FINAL FANTASY VII: Advent Children song, and also ended the show with an outro song from the film. As a gamer, that alone gives them admirable props. 11 tracks ranging at around 58:17, the quartet delivers an intricately designed formula of hard-hitting technical mayhem. The titular track opens with ambience filled with terror, until the melodic distinctions kick in. Frontman guitarist and vocalist Matt Heafy showcases high-pitched vocalization to brutally guttural hardcore growling, with a wide array of dominating riffs.

Consisting of Corey Beaulieu on guitar/vocals, the multitasked consistently provides complex dexterity with more deadly nimbleness. "Beyond Oblivion" begins with a hasty Thrash Metal contrast as the Metalcore grooviness amalgamates with fierce technicalities; the riffs are efficiently performed which distribute a nice blend of all things Metal, enlightened with fulfilling sing a long chorus section and detailed solos.

"Other World" is more melodically symphonic, as powerhouse drummer Alex Bent pulverizes his set - like a battering ram approaching in the distance. The track composes very nice orchestrations that for a band like TRIVIUM would be unprecedented for, the harmonic complexity is adroit and implements unique elements, which flourish with glamorous results. "The Heart From Your Hate" is another enjoyable experience, menacingly vehement solos that swerve with concrete proficiencies. Flexible bassist Paolo Gregoletto manifests with organic aesthetic that pummel with prominence, "Betrayer" is filled with tormenting Thrash Metal mechanics while keeping the Metalcore & Heavy Metal characteristics in absolute check. The diverse variety is astonishing, as the backing vocals measures up with a concise substance to the contributions I've witnessed so far. The record is a dynamic structure of stunning attributions so far.

"The Wretchedness Inside" continues the blistering pummeling, with groovy breakdowns and powerful solos alongside with those upbeat vocals juxtaposed with grunting progression. This shows off the band's adaptation to being expertly crafted, "Endless Night" contrives with more thunderous melodies at a lowered tempo - making it an anthem, which hymns with colossal passion. It's a true spectacle of might, and unwavering discoveries that I feel make this record very special.

"Severed The Hand" distributes speedy velocity which made my head wobble at a uncontrollable rate, the solos lasted for just under a minute - with tasty rhythms and captivating songwriting skills which establishes relentless stimulation abundantly. "Beauty In The Sorrow" is a typical TRIVIUM track, showcasing elegant musicianship and instrumentation that's just filled with impressive arrangements in which are developed with undeniable talent. "The Revanchist" portrays more fascinating compositions, orienting with the aforementioned indifferences, which are executed brilliantly. Overall concluding "The Sin And The Sentence" with the final track "Thrown Into The Fire"; which supplies ferocious blast beats, maddeningly epic solos and just great sound production craftsmanship, I can confirm that this is a must listen to record of the year. The band outdone themselves with this one, newcomers and veterans alike - go get it!<
