The opening track, "Agonie", is a sharp, grating instrumental piece that helps to set the tone for the following eight songs. It is a very melodic piece of music with a slight, raw edge to it that really works. "Eine Andere Welt" is a blistering, Thrash influenced slab of Melodic Death Metal, coupled with some really fierce, shrieking vocals that command the listener's attention. It's an interesting, solid way on which to open this record. "Bestie Krieg" heads down a more Death/Thrash route, with deep, guttural vocals acting as the focal point for a track characterised by speed, technicality and aggression. "Werde Zu Staub" is tinged with a strong Melodic Death Metal influence, and helps to build a great deal of momentum for the record, not only in terms of musical virtuosity, but also in terms of catchiness, It's got some really infectious, memorable guitar lines, and some hideous, rasping vocals, which really complement each other and make this an interesting track. "Kapitulation" is a good, if somewhat passable track. This is not to say that it is a bad track, more that it does not measure up to the standards of the rest of the record up to this point. Vocally, this is one of the more varied tracks on the record, and this aspect is one of the standout features on this song. "Blutrot" really makes up for the last track, however. This is a great slab of melodic, acerbic Blackened Death Metal, peppered with some very well placed, surprisingly catchy Trombone sections, and overall, this track shows a lot of promise. It would be good to see this band adopt this style more frequently, and it's a shame that is hasn't surfaced fully until this point on the record. "Welk" continues in this vein, but falls just short of the mark that the last track set. This is mainly down to the production on this particular song, which makes the song sound thinner and less substantial as a result. "Ins Licht" is a catchy, groove-laden powerhouse of a song, which features some of the most inspired and impressive guitar lines on the whole record, as well as one of the best drumming performances. The final song on the record, "Seelenreiter", utilises cleaner tones and powerful, mid-tempo riffing to great effect. It's a powerful way to end this album.

This is, for the most part, very hit and miss. There's lot of great moments in amongst the record, however, and they show plenty of promise. If the band opts to head down the musical route laid out on tracks like "Blutrot" and the records closing number, then I feel they could really carve out their own niche and produce some exceptional music. This album is certainly varied, and I'm sure there is something on here that will appeal to fans of all forms of Melo-Death.<
