Ok, I'll try to toss aside my feelings as a distant friend from Lior (Aka The Boss), in order to write something barely descent and as always true about a band that comes to my archives.
Sometimes you need to go back to your roots to remember who you are, to know where you are headed, and this is exactly what happens to me. Sometimes in my reviews I've been kind of insistent about the innovative part, the modernism, the talent, and even the experimentation; but even with that kind of requests from somebody like me who knows a few things about the art of creating music and has the power of criticize people who put their effort or talent on the line with the most ruthless words and harsh sentences; it is always pleasant to have shocks like this to mark the way to where you belong.
SWITCHBLADE is just that, a way, a moment, not to remain along the ages, but a good moment, these three songs make you sing. "Endless War" has been in my head since the moment I first listened to it. It is not something new, not something old, it is just a great phase in time that makes you bang your head. Even when the years caught me without the long hair, there are the good guitars, catchy riffs, strong percussion, and a voice that made me think I could actually sing... at least alone J
If you feel that you want to remember what has brought you along the years through the Metal path, SWITCHBLADE is a good option. It will not mark you for the rest of your life, but maybe it will show you the meaning of walking through various of roads of your past...again.
